The Regional Wellbeing Survey team are proud to be partnering with Carers Australia to conduct a national survey into the wellbeing of carers and their support services. The Caring for Others & Yourself: Carer Wellbeing Survey asks people to share their experiences – past and present – of being a carer and the support services they use. We are calling all carers to take part, whether your caring role is big or small, long-term or short-term, current or past.

You can do the survey at www.tinyurl.com/2021carersurvey.

If you prefer a direct link, the survey is available here.

The survey can also be completed in:

Arabic/اَلْعَرَبِيَّةُ/al-ʿarabiyyah (click here)
Simplified Chinese/简体字 (click here)
Vietnamese/Tiếng Việt’/㗂越 (click here)
Italian/Italiano (click here)

The survey will take between 10-30 minutes to complete, depending on how many questions you choose to answer. Those who successfully complete the survey will go into the draw to win one of  13 prizes worth a total of $5,000, including a first prize of a $1,500 gift card, second prize of a $1,000 gift card, third prize of a $500 gift card, or one of 10 runner up prizes of a $200 gift card. Winners will have their choice of an itunes, Amazon, WISH, Coles-Myer, or Bunnings gift card). Prize draw terms and conditions are available here.

Caring for other people can take many forms, and so can the benefits and challenges that come with providing care to another person. The 2021 Carer Wellbeing Survey asks about the types of care you provide to others, and the types of supports or services you may have accessed in your caring role, including the Australian Government Carer Gateway.

Please take part in the survey even if you were previously a carer but are no longer providing care to another person – it’s important for us to understand how many Australians have different types of caring responsibilities and the kinds of supports and services they have accessed (and you’ll still be eligible to enter our prize draw even if you are not currently a carer).

This project extends on previous work undertaken as part of the Regional Wellbeing Survey, in which we identified that carers living in rural and regional areas often experience challenges to their wellbeing, and how these challenges varied for different carers (the report is available here)

Need help or prefer a paper copy of the survey? Call 1800 981 499 or email regionalwellbeing@canberra.edu.au and we can assist.

You can download a copy of the survey questions here.

More information about the survey, including how the privacy and confidentiality of participants is protected, can be found in our information sheet.
